Retaining water when it's needed.
Noone would leave their dog with out water just because it didn't rain but.... Too many believe our plants don't need water when it doesn't rain. To produce fruit, a fruit tree needs a gallon a week when it doesn't rain. Soil protectors like manure and mulch is important.See Allan Savory youtube below for more details.
The soil-water retention rate will improve and the soil will have more water capacity when manure is added to your soil. Manure will also add vital minerals and nutrients for healthy soil development.
